Consolidated Farming Limited (CFL) was incorporated in 1996 and ventured in sugar farming at Kafue, Shibunyunji District. We are the only wholly Zambian owned and managed sugar producer. 10,000 hectares under cultivation 30,000 metric tons annually 10% of production market 3,500 employees (2025).
Kafue Sugar is actively establishing a 15 megawatt biomass energy project and ethanol plant. The biomass initiative is via the 'Supporting Preparedness for Article Six Cooperation - SPARC project' supported by the Swedish Energy Agency and the Zambian government.
As a major consumer of electricity in sugar manufacturing and to reduce our carbon footprint we are committed to exploring new avenues of productivity, cost reductions, and manufacturing efficiencies. The strategy is to create jobs, diversity our investments and contribute to the national economy.

Kafue Sugar market share has increased every year. With greater yields, we are able to embark on deploying green energy technologies by generating our own electricity which will also reduce our operational costs. This initiative will reduce our dependency on the nation power grid supply to the manufacturing process which will allow us to operate the factory without power interruptions.
